About Manzil — Fabric, Handwork & Fit

A Bridal & Formal Velvet Lehenga for Mehndi, Walima, Nikkah & Winter Evenings

Manzil is a teal and turquoise Pakistani bridal lehenga choli by Waqas Shah, cut in pure French velvet and finished by hand in our Lahore atelier. A trailing floral bel jaal in tilla, aari, sequins and tiny mirrors covers the whole skirt and ends in a wide worked border at the hem. The short-sleeved choli has a hand-embellished neckline that frames a statement necklace beautifully. It comes with a pure organza dupatta in a diamond-trellis jaal, edged on all four sides with a heavily embroidered border and copper kiran. From our Vyah Diyan Tyaariyan collection and also featured in Shakuntala, it is made for an evening walima, a winter nikkah or an engagement, works beautifully at an indoor winter mehndi, and is a striking choice for the bride's sister on barat night. Styled with lighter jewellery, the same velvet lehenga becomes a formal look for winter dinners, Eid evenings and family receptions.

How to Style Manzil

Teal sits between blue and green, so it flatters most skin tones and glows under warm evening lights. Gold kundan or polki with emerald drops picks up the tilla, exactly as in our campaign shoot, and a sleek low bun keeps the neckline in view. Because velvet is a cool-weather fabric, this outfit is a natural choice for December and January functions. Indian brides can wear it to the reception, sagai or cocktail night, and Sikh brides to the reception after the Anand Karaj, the kurmai or their first Lohri.

Manzil — Quick Answers

Is teal a good colour for a Pakistani bride?

Yes. Teal and turquoise have become a favourite alternative to classic mehndi green, and they look regal at a nikkah or walima too, without the heaviness of deep jewel tones. Browse more Green Mehndi Dresses.

Which wedding events is Manzil best for?

It shines brightest at an evening walima, where the velvet and heavy jewellery come alive under night-time lights. It is just as lovely for a winter or evening nikkah, with the dupatta borders framing the face, and for an engagement, which calls for something rich but lighter than a barat look. At an indoor winter mehndi it gives classic green a fresh twist, though velvet is heavier to dance in. On barat night, it is a standout choice for the bride's sister or close family. See all our Pakistani Bridal Dresses.

Can Manzil be worn as a formal outfit, not just bridal?

Yes. Pair it with a single choker and studs, let the dupatta fall over one shoulder, and it reads as a formal velvet lehenga for a winter wedding guest, an Eid dinner or a family reception. Sisters, close friends and bridesmaids often pick it for exactly that. Browse more in our Luxury Formal collection.

Is Manzil suitable for a Sikh wedding?

Yes, especially for the evening celebrations. It is a beautiful choice for the reception after the Anand Karaj, for the kurmai, and for a new bride's first Lohri, a winter bonfire night that is made for velvet. It also suits an indoor ladies sangeet or the chunni chadana, though its weight makes long hours of dancing tiring. On jaggo night, it is a lovely pick for the bride's sister or close family.

Can Indian brides wear Manzil?

Yes. It is made for the reception, where many Hindu brides now step away from red into teal and jewel tones, and it is just as striking at the sagai or a cocktail night. A new bride's first Diwali or first Karva Chauth, both evening celebrations, are lovely occasions for it too. It works at an indoor winter sangeet or mehendi, though velvet feels heavy in daytime heat and through long hours of dancing. For the pheras, brides traditionally wear red, so on the wedding day Manzil is best kept for the bride's sister or close family.

What fabric and embroidery is used?

The lehenga and choli are pure French velvet, an 80-gram weight with a soft, heavy fall. On the lehenga, tilla, aari, sequins and mirror pieces form a floral bel jaal. The dupatta is pure organza with a diamond-trellis jaal of its own.

What comes with the outfit?

All three pieces seen in the photos: the velvet lehenga, the velvet choli and the embroidered organza dupatta. Nothing is sold separately.

Can I wear a velvet lehenga in summer?

Velvet is warm, so it is happiest at winter weddings or in a well air-conditioned hall. For an outdoor summer mehndi, a raw silk or organza lehenga will be more comfortable.

Which jewellery goes with teal?

Gold kundan, polki and jadau bring out the tilla, and emerald or green stones deepen the colour. Pearls soften the look for a daytime nikkah.

What is the price of Manzil?

The full three-piece outfit (lehenga, choli and dupatta) is Rs.195,000.00, in any size from XXS to XL or made to your measurements, with free tracked shipping worldwide. Prices display in your local currency; payment at checkout is in Pakistani rupees (PKR).

How long will my order take?

Around 4 weeks to make in our Lahore atelier, then 2 to 5 days by free tracked courier in Pakistan or 4 to 11 days to the UK, USA, Canada, Europe, UAE and other countries. If your wedding is close, WhatsApp us the date before ordering.

Can it be made to measure?

Yes. Pick XXS to XL from the size chart, or choose Customize and send us your measurements.

How do I look after a velvet lehenga?

Hang the lehenga on a padded hanger inside a breathable cotton bag; folding velvet under weight leaves crush marks in the pile. Steam lightly from the reverse and never iron the face. Dry clean only, with a cleaner who handles embellished bridal wear, and keep the organza dupatta folded in muslin on its own.

Outfit Details

Manzil Lehenga

Cut in 80-gram French velvet, the lehenga is covered in a trailing floral bel jaal: slender vines in tilla and aari, dotted with small flowers, leaves, sequins and tiny mirrors that glint as the skirt moves. A wide embroidered border finishes the hem, and the soft pile of the velvet gives the flare a rich, heavy fall.

Manzil Choli

The short-sleeved velvet choli carries the same floral bel jaal as the lehenga, finished with a tilla and sequin border at the sleeves. Its round neckline is the showpiece: hand zardozi set with Swarovski crystals and kashti stones, dabka and naqshi, golden pearls and moti, then finished with beads and sequins, so it holds its own beside a heavy bridal choker or a single formal necklace.

Manzil Dupatta

The pure organza dupatta has a jaal of its own: a diamond trellis of fine embroidered lines, quite different from the floral work on the lehenga, with a spray of hand embellishment scattered within it. All four sides are framed by a heavily embroidered border finished with copper (tanba) kiran lace. The sheer organza lets the teal velvet show through, while the warm copper kiran catches the light with every movement and ties the dupatta to the gold tilla work.

Manzil Cut & Style

A luxurious Pakistani bridal lehenga ensemble featuring a hand-embellished choli, an 80-gram velvet lehenga in a floral bel jaal, and a pure organza dupatta in a diamond-trellis jaal with a heavy four-sided embroidered border and copper kiran. Worked in traditional tilla and aari with delicate sequins and mirrors, Manzil balances heritage craftsmanship with contemporary luxury, for brides and formal winter evenings alike.
