Red Bridal Lehenga
Red is still the colour most brides choose for the wedding day. In Pakistani homes it is the barat and nikkah shade, and across South Asia it is the colour Sikh brides wear for the Anand Karaj and Hindu brides wear for the pheras.
This is our red bridal lehenga edit: lehenga choli in deep crimson, ruby and classic sindoori red, worked in zardozi, dabka, naqshi, tilla and sequins, with full dupattas that can be taken over the head for the rukhsati. Some are cut in raw silk for a structured, kalidaar flare; others in net for a softer, lighter fall. Deep red keeps its richness under stage lights and in evening photographs, which is why it has stayed the barat favourite for generations.
