We ship Lahore-made bridal, mehndi and formal wear to customers across Europe, free by DHL or SkyNet. Brides and guests in France, Spain and Norway have ordered lehenga choli and pieces from our Ishq Naama collection. Every outfit is made after you order.
Most of Europe shares one set of import rules, because the EU is a single customs union, and those rules changed in July 2026. This guide explains them, with the VAT rate for each main country, along with timing, payment and European sizes. Ordering from the UK? See our separate UK guide.
Lehenga choli and nikkah pieces ordered from Europe
Three pieces that have already travelled from Lahore to European addresses:
- Black Blossom: a black net mehndi lehenga choli from our Ready to Ship rail, sent to Norway.
- Jagrani: a red net bridal lehenga, hand-embellished for the barat, sent to Italy.
- Omairah: an off white organza nikkah shirt with a badla sharara, sent to Denmark.
Also worth a look for a European wedding: Singhaar, a red net mehndi dress from Ishq Naama; Zannia, a green net mehndi lehenga choli; and Setareh Pink, a pink net shirt in resham and Swarovski over a tissue inner. Punjabi Sikh and Indian families across Italy, Germany and the rest of Europe wear these for their weddings too.
How long delivery to Europe takes
The making time comes first:
- Ready to Ship: dispatched within 24 to 48 hours
- Luxury Pret: about 4 weeks
- Luxury Formals: around 4 weeks
- Bridals: 10 to 12 weeks, delivery included
Delivery then takes 4 to 11 days to most European addresses, free and tracked from the day the parcel leaves Lahore. Customs clearance happens before delivery. If your wedding is less than three months away, message us with the date before you order.
Parcels have gone to Rygge in Norway, the Ferrara area in Italy and Copenhagen in Denmark, and the same tracked service reaches Germany, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Belgium and Ireland.
Import VAT and customs duty in the EU
Your order is shipped DDU (delivered duty unpaid), so import charges are paid by you on arrival, not by us. Three EU-wide rules decide what you pay.
1. Import VAT from the first euro. Since July 2021 there is no value below which a parcel from outside the EU arrives VAT-free. VAT is charged at your own country's standard rate on the value of the goods plus shipping and any duty.
| Country | Standard VAT on import |
|---|---|
| Germany | 19% |
| France | 20% |
| Spain | 21% |
| Netherlands | 21% |
| Belgium | 21% |
| Italy | 22% |
| Ireland | 23% |
2. The €150 duty exemption has ended. Until 30 June 2026, parcels worth €150 or less paid no customs duty. From 1 July 2026 the EU replaced that exemption with a temporary flat duty of €3 per item for consignments up to €150, due to run until 1 July 2028.
3. Above €150, normal duty applies. Nearly all our bridal and formal pieces are worth more than €150, so they pay the ordinary duty rate for that type of garment rather than the €3 flat rate.
On top of this, the courier usually charges its own fee for paying the charges on your behalf; with DHL in Germany that is €7.50 for standard parcel clearance, and the amount differs by country. The courier contacts you before delivery, you pay the courier, and the parcel is released. We cannot quote your exact total in advance, because it depends on the garment's commodity code and declared value, but we declare every order accurately so clearance is quick.
Ordering from Norway
Norway is not in the EU, so EU rules do not apply. Norwegian Customs charges 25% VAT on imported clothing, and clothing is one of the few goods that can also carry customs duty, depending on the garment. Because we are not registered in Norway's VOEC scheme, the carrier also charges a fee for handling customs clearance. You can estimate the duty with the Norwegian Customs guide.
Paying in euros or kroner
Prices on the site show in your local currency as an estimate only. Your card is charged in Pakistani rupees, because Shopify Payments is not available in Pakistan and our gateway settles in rupees. Your bank converts at its own rate, and some European cards add a fee of about 1 to 2% on non-euro payments, while many charge nothing. We can work out the euro or kroner figure with you on WhatsApp before you pay.
European sizes
We cut XXS to XL; other sizes are made to measure. Germany and the Netherlands use one numbering, France, Spain and Belgium run two sizes higher, and Italy four above that:
| Our size | Germany / Netherlands | France / Spain / Belgium | Italy |
|---|---|---|---|
| XXS | 30 | 32 | 36 |
| XS | 32–34 | 34–36 | 38–40 |
| S | 36–38 | 38–40 | 42–44 |
| M | 40–42 | 42–44 | 46–48 |
| L | 44–46 | 46–48 | 50–52 |
| XL | 48–50 | 50–52 | 54–56 |
Made to your measurements
Send your measurements in centimetres; most designs are made to measure at no extra cost. Lahore is 3 hours ahead of Central Europe in summer and 4 in winter, so messages are usually answered the same day. WhatsApp +92 310 0001250.
You can follow each stage of the process, from design to delivery, in The Waqas Shah Experience.

What European customers ask
Can I order a Pakistani wedding dress to Germany?
Yes. We make it in Lahore to your measurements and ship it free with tracking. Import VAT in Germany is 19% plus the duty for the garment, as set out above. If you want to see the fabric and handwork first, we can show you on a WhatsApp video call before you pay.
Does the price change by country?
No. The rupee price is the same for every country, and the euro or kroner figure you see is only a conversion. What differs is the import VAT and duty your own country charges on arrival, which you pay to the courier.
What should I choose for a European winter wedding?
Velvet and raw silk keep you warm at an evening reception: our Velvet Allure range and lehengas like Taseer are made for it. For a summer garden or daytime event, net and organza are lighter.
Can I wear these to a Sikh or Indian wedding in Italy or Germany?
Yes. Our lehenga choli suit an Anand Karaj, a sangeet or a reception as much as a mehndi or barat. Tell us the function and we will help with the colour.
