Mayon dress FAQs
Will haldi or ubtan stain my mayon outfit?
Turmeric paste can mark any fabric, raw silk and organza included, so most brides choose yellow, mustard or orange, where a small mark barely shows. Slip the dupatta off while the ubtan is applied, and have the outfit dry-cleaned soon after the function rather than leaving it to set.
Is a lehenga practical when I'm sitting on the floor?
A raw silk lehenga spreads around you well and photographs beautifully from above, but it is the most volume you can wear. If you would rather get up and sit down easily, a maxi or pishwas such as Sakina Bano or Chand R Mukhi falls in one line. A shirt-and-trouser set like Diya is the lightest option here.
Mayon, mayun or mayoun: is it the same ceremony?
Yes. It is the same pre-wedding ritual, where haldi and ubtan are applied to the bride, and the spelling simply changes from family to family. Whatever you call it, every outfit on this page is made with that ceremony in mind.
Can I wear my mayon outfit again at the mehndi or dholki?
Many pieces here are cut to work across all three. Zari, Aabroo, Shahrbanu, Mahira and Resham are designed for mayoun, mehndi and dholki, so one outfit can carry you through more than one evening of the wedding week.
Can a design be made in a different colour?
Often, yes. If you love a shape but need it in yellow rather than green, send us the product link on WhatsApp (+92 310 0001250) before ordering and we will confirm what is possible. Each piece is made for you, so we can't accept change-of-mind returns; agree every detail with us first.
