Shararas by Waqas Shah Official: wide-legged trousers that flare from the waist, worn under a short or long shirt, often with a dupatta. They are the traditional alternative to a lehenga for the nikkah, mehndi and engagement, and much easier to sit and move in.
Most of our shararas are cut in badla, a fabric woven with fine metallic thread that gives the sharara its sheen and weight. They are paired with net, organza or tissue shirts hand-embellished with dabka, naqshi, Swarovski crystals and beads; some have a front-open shirt over an inner blouse.

Sharara
Flares from the waist or hip with no seam at the knee, so it falls in one long, wide line. It is the easier of the two to walk and sit in, which is why it is a popular choice for a nikkah.
Gharara
Fitted from the waist to the knee, where a band of gota or embroidery joins it to a fuller, pleated lower leg. It reads as more traditional and more formal, and is usually heavier. We make ghararas to order.
