About Simran — Fabric, Handwork & Fit

Red Pakistani Bridal Lehenga Choli in Pure Raw Silk for the Baraat, Shaadi and Anand Karaj

Simran is a deep red bridal lehenga choli by Waqas Shah, made for the bride who wants the classic colour of the wedding day with couture finishing. The choli is cut in pure Indian raw silk and covered in a gold paisley and floral jaal of aari work, heavy sequins and tilla; its front and back necklines and its scalloped hem are then finished by hand with zardozi, dabka, naqshi, sitara, pearls and tilla, with red stones set along the neckline border. The open back closes with gold tassels, and each sleeve carries a gold border and an embroidered motif.

The kalidaar raw silk lehenga alternates plain red panels with panels of large gold buttis, rises to a gold belt at the waist and ends in a densely worked ghera. A pure organza dupatta, covered in a gold scalloped jaal with a sprinkle of hand embellishment, is bordered on all four sides and edged with pure copper kiran.

Part of our Shakuntala collection, Simran is made to order in your size at our Lahore atelier. Red is the bridal colour shared across South Asian weddings, so it suits a Muslim baraat or nikkah, a Sikh Anand Karaj and a Hindu shaadi alike, and its sisters, bridesmaids and bhabhis often choose it for the wedding week too.

How to Style Simran

As a bride, take the dupatta over your head so the copper kiran and gold border frame your face, and pair it with a kundan or polki choker, a matha patti and full chooda or bangles. For the Anand Karaj or pheras, pin the dupatta securely so it stays in place through the ceremony. Sisters and bhabhis can drape it on one shoulder and keep jewellery lighter so the hand-finished neckline shows.

Simran — Quick Answers

Is this red lehenga suitable for my baraat or wedding day?

Yes, it was designed as a main bridal look. Deep red with gold is the traditional wedding-day combination, and the raw silk gives the lehenga real body for photos and the walk to the stage. Browse more Pakistani Bridal Dresses.

Can I wear it for a Sikh Anand Karaj or a Hindu shaadi?

Yes. Red is the bridal colour across Muslim, Sikh and Hindu weddings, and the full organza dupatta covers the head comfortably for the Anand Karaj, pheras or nikkah. Many Punjabi and Indian brides in the UK, USA and Canada order it for exactly that reason.

Which parts are hand embellished?

On the choli, the front and back necklines and the scalloped hem are worked by hand in zardozi, dabka, naqshi, sitara, pearls and tilla over the embroidery. The dupatta has a sprinkle of hand embellishment across it. The lehenga is finished in aari work, heavy sequins, tilla and gota-style embroidery, with no extra hand embellishment.

Is the fabric really raw silk?

Yes, the choli and lehenga are pure Indian raw silk and the dupatta is pure organza. Raw silk holds the kalidaar panels in a clean flare and has a soft, natural sheen, while the copper kiran on the dupatta keeps its warm tone next to the gold work.

Can my sister, bridesmaid or bhabhi wear Simran?

Of course. Worn with the dupatta on one shoulder and lighter jewellery, it reads as a rich wedding-guest look rather than a bridal one, which suits the bride's sisters, bhabhis and close family. See our Pakistani Wedding Dresses.

Can Simran be worn as a formal outfit after the wedding?

Yes. Once the wedding is over, it does not have to stay in the cupboard. Let the organza dupatta fall over one arm, swap the heavy kundan for jhumkas and a slim kara, and the raw silk lehenga choli becomes a luxury formal look for a reception, an engagement, a valima you attend as family or an evening formal dinner. Browse our Luxury Formal edit for more.

What is the price of Simran?

Rs.225,000.00 for all three pieces — raw silk choli, kalidaar raw silk lehenga and organza dupatta — with free tracked shipping worldwide. Prices appear in your local currency and are charged in Pakistani rupees (PKR) at checkout.

How long will it take to reach me?

It is made in 4 to 5 weeks, then delivered in 2 to 5 days within Pakistan or 7 to 14 days internationally. For a wedding, we suggest ordering at least seven weeks ahead and sharing your date with us on WhatsApp.

Can it be made to my measurements?

Yes. Pick XXS to XL from the size chart, or choose Customize and our atelier will cut it to your own measurements, including lehenga length for your heel height.
