Diyar is a blush pink bridal lehenga choli from our Vyah Diyan Tyaariyan collection. It is a three-piece set in net (lehenga, choli and dupatta) hand-embellished with crystals, pearls, sequins and beadwork, for a bride who wants the weight and sparkle of a barat or reception outfit without wearing red.

Diyar at a glance

  • Pieces: lehenga, choli and dupatta
  • Fabric: net, for all three pieces
  • Embellishment: crystals, pearls, sequins, beadwork and fine embroidery
  • Best for: barat and reception
  • Making time: 10 to 12 weeks, delivery included

The three pieces

Lehenga

The lehenga is cut with a generous flare and worked with embroidery, sequins, crystals, pearls and beadwork. The volume gives it movement when you walk in and lets it settle evenly when you sit on stage.

Choli

The choli is fitted, with crystals, pearls and sequins set by hand over fine embroidery. Diyar can be made to your own measurements, so the fit is cut for you rather than taken from a standard size.

Dupatta

The net dupatta has an embellished border and is light enough to drape over the head and one shoulder at once. Next to the worked lehenga and choli, it keeps the look soft.

Why choose blush pink

Blush sits between the traditional bridal shades and pastels. Under warm stage lighting it reads rosy rather than pale, so it still looks bridal, and in daylight photographs it stays soft. It goes as easily with gold jewellery as with pearls or polki.

Brides tend to wear Diyar in one of two ways: as the barat outfit when the whole wedding follows a softer palette, or as the reception look after a red barat. For how colours are usually divided across the functions, see our guide to dresses for each wedding function.

Styling Diyar

  • Jewellery: gold polki or kundan, or pearls with diamonds for a lighter look. Let one piece lead, either the necklace or the earrings.
  • Makeup: rose or peach tones on the lips and cheeks.
  • Hair: a low bun under the dupatta, or soft waves if the dupatta will sit on the shoulder.
  • Shoes: gold or champagne khussa, or a low block heel.

FAQs

Which function is Diyar best for?

The barat or the reception. It is worked heavily enough to look bridal on stage, and the colour also suits a walima if you prefer a lighter shade there.

What is Diyar made of?

All three pieces are net, embellished by hand with crystals, pearls, sequins and beadwork over fine embroidery.

Can the design be changed?

Often, yes. Sleeves, neckline and dupatta can usually be adjusted. Message us before ordering and we will confirm what is possible for this design.
