Nikkah Dresses 2026: Lehenga, Sharara and Maxi Designs for the Nikkah

Pakistani nikkah dresses: lehenga choli, sharara, maxi and pishwas designs, the colours brides choose, and practical tips for the nikkah...

The nikkah is the heart of a Pakistani wedding: the religious ceremony, often held in a mosque, at home or in a smaller hall, with close family around. The dress reflects that. It is softer and lighter than the barat outfit, but the bride still wants to look and feel like a bride.

This guide is about nikkah dresses only: the shapes that work, the colours brides choose, the practical points that matter for a nikkah, and designs from our 2026 nikkah collection.

What makes a good nikkah dress

  • A dupatta that sits well on the head. It will be over your head for most of the ceremony, so choose net or organza that pins easily and is not too heavy.
  • Detail close to the face. Nikkah photos are taken up close, when you sign the nikkah nama and with family. Neckline, sleeve and dupatta border work matter more than the hem.
  • Modest but special. Many brides want fuller sleeves and a higher neckline for the nikkah; embroidery keeps it bridal.
  • Comfort for sitting. The ceremony usually means sitting for a long time, often on the floor or a low sofa.

Nikkah dress styles

Nikkah lehenga choli

The most bridal option. Shahtaaj is an ivory raw silk lehenga choli with mirror work, zardozi and crystals and a soft mint organza dupatta. Mystic Rose is white, with zardozi, crystals and bugle beads on the choli, a beaded tassel hem and sheer embroidered sleeves. Gul Bano pairs a white sequin lehenga carrying flowers, birds and peacocks in resham with a peach organza dupatta.

For a warmer tone, Dilnashin is champagne gold net worked in dabka, naqshi, sequins, pearls and beadwork.

Shirt with sharara

Traditional and very comfortable for sitting. Farz-e-Nikkah is an off-white short net shirt with kora, dabka, pearls, crystals and sitara at the neckline, worn with a flowing badla sharara. Omairah pairs a hand-embellished organza shirt with a badla sharara and a net dupatta with mukesh work.

Shirt with lehenga or trouser

Safavid pairs a hand-embellished net shirt in powder peach with a badla lehenga. Rosa is a peach kathan organza shirt worked in resham, sequins, beads, Swarovski and pearls, with a raw silk trouser, a good choice for an intimate nikkah at home.

Maxi and pishwas

One long piece reads elegant and modest. Mariam uz Zamani is a white floor-length raw silk maxi with floral detailing and a heavily embellished border. Flora is a pale mint and white pishwas covered in pearls, crystals and Japanese beading, set off by a coral dupatta.

Nikkah colours

Colour Feel Example

Off-white Soft and traditional Farz-e-Nikkah, Omairah
Peach and powder peach Warm and romantic Safavid, Rosa
Champagne and gold Rich but still soft Dilnashin
Mint and aqua Fresh and modern Flora, Mah Bano

A contrast dupatta, such as mint on ivory or peach on white, is the easiest way to add colour without losing the soft nikkah look.

Choosing for your venue

  • Mosque: fuller sleeves, a higher neckline and a dupatta that fully covers the head; a sharara or maxi is practical.
  • At home: lighter fabrics and a shirt with trouser or sharara; you will be sitting close to family on low seating.
  • Hall or hotel, or nikkah and rukhsati on the same day: a fuller lehenga choli, since the same outfit may carry you through the whole day.

Styling a nikkah look

  • Jewellery: pearls, polki or a delicate matha patti suit the softer palette better than heavy gold sets.
  • Dupatta: pin it before you sit down and check it in a mirror while seated.
  • Makeup: soft and fresh; the nikkah photos are close-ups.
  • Shoes: comfortable flats or low heels, especially for a mosque.

FAQs

What colour should I wear for my nikkah?

White, ivory, off-white, peach, champagne and mint are the most popular. A contrast dupatta adds colour while keeping the look soft.

Is a lehenga or a sharara better for a nikkah?

A lehenga choli looks the most bridal, especially if the nikkah and rukhsati are on the same day. A sharara is more traditional and more comfortable when you will sit for a long time.

Can I wear my nikkah dress again?

Yes. Lighter nikkah outfits such as a shirt with sharara or trouser are easy to restyle for Eid, engagements and other weddings.

Can I have fuller sleeves or a higher neckline?

Yes. Most designs can be adjusted. Message us before ordering so we can confirm what is possible for that piece.

What is your return policy?

Most pieces are made to order, so we do not accept returns for change of mind. If an item arrives defective or incorrect, report it within 5 days of delivery with photos and we will put it right. Full details are in our Refund Policy.
