About Geet — Fabric, Handwork & Fit

A Bridal & Formal Raw Silk Lehenga for Mehndi, Sangeet, Jaago & Reception

Geet is a navy blue lehenga choli by Waqas Shah, cut in pure Indian raw silk for evening weddings. An allover jaal of golden tilla aari work, set with sequins and resham, covers both the lehenga and the choli, with small floral bootis inside every lattice. The kalidar skirt opens into a wide flare and ends in a deep hem of stacked paisley rows, gold stripes and sequin lines. On the choli, the front neckline, back neckline and both hems are hand-embellished with pearls, crystal stones, sequins, naqshi and seed beads. The open back ties with gold doris that finish in a handmade latkan of gota, mirror work and beads. A champagne pure tissue dupatta carries the same golden border and a hand-embellished spray through the centre. The three-piece set is made in our Lahore atelier for brides and their families at Pakistani, Sikh and Indian weddings, from Lahore to the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, the UAE and Europe.

How to Style Geet

Navy and gold call for warm metal jewellery: a gold or kundan choker, chandbalis or heavy jhumkas, and a side jhoomar for a bride. For a mehndi or reception, pin the tissue dupatta over one shoulder so the open back and latkan stay on show; for a sangeet, leave it loose over both arms so the flare can move. Soft bronze eyes and a rose or berry lip suit the deep blue, and gold khussas complete the look.

Geet — Quick Answers

What colour is Geet?

A deep navy blue raw silk worked in gold, with a champagne tissue dupatta. It reads rich and dark at night and shows its blue clearly in daylight.

Which functions is it made for?

Mehndi, sangeet, jaago and reception first, then walima, engagement, roka, nikkah and cocktail. It is best suited to night and winter events.

Can a bride wear it, or is it for guests too?

Both. Brides choose it for the mehndi, reception or sangeet, and it works for a sister, cousin, bhabhi or bridesmaid at the baraat or any main function.

Is Geet a good choice for a Sikh wedding?

Yes. Sikh brides and their families wear navy and gold for the jaago, sangeet, roka and reception, and the full flare is made for dancing at the jaago. For the Anand Karaj, most brides still choose red or pink, so Geet suits the evening functions around it.

Does it suit Indian weddings too?

Yes. Indian brides wear it for the mehndi, sangeet, cocktail and reception, and guests can wear it to any evening function.

Can I order Geet from the UK, USA, Canada or Australia?

Yes. Brides in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, the UAE and across Europe order Geet online in their own size or made to measure, and we ship it free with tracking. Prices show in your local currency, and our team helps with measurements over WhatsApp.

What is the fabric, and what comes in the set?

The lehenga and choli are pure Indian raw silk, and the dupatta is pure tissue. All three pieces are included.

What embroidery covers the lehenga?

An allover jaal of golden tilla aari work with sequins and resham, and floral bootis in every lattice. The waistband carries the same work, and the hem has a deep border of paisley rows, gold stripes and sequin lines.

What hand work is on the choli?

The front neckline, back neckline and both hem edges are hand-embellished with pearls, crystal stones, sequins, naqshi and seed beads, over the same tilla aari jaal.

What are the sleeves like?

Short sleeves above the elbow, finished with a wide border of golden tilla aari work, sequins and resham in paisley rows.

What does the back look like?

A deep open back tied with gold doris that end in a handmade latkan of gota, mirror work and beads.

How is the dupatta finished?

Champagne pure tissue with a broad border in the same gold work as the lehenga, a hand-embellished spray of pearls, crystal stones, sequins and seed beads through the centre, and gold fringe on the edges.

What does Geet cost?

Rs.165,000.00 for the complete three-piece set, in sizes XXS to XL or made to your measurements, with free tracked shipping worldwide. Prices show in your local currency; checkout is in Pakistani rupees (PKR).

When will my order arrive?

4 to 5 weeks to make in our Lahore atelier, then 2 to 5 days within Pakistan or 4 to 11 days to the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Europe, UAE and other countries. If your date is close, message us on WhatsApp before ordering.
