Orange is one of the two classic mayoun colours. Here is how to style an orange lehenga for your mayoun...

The mayoun is the most joyful, hands-on ritual of a Pakistani wedding: ubtan rubbed onto the bride's hands and face, marigold everywhere, and family crowding round with laughter and songs. Two colours have always ruled it, yellow and orange. Orange is the bolder of the pair, warm like turmeric and bright like marigold. Aarohi, our orange lehenga choli from the Madhubala collection, celebrates exactly that energy, and carries on beautifully into the mehndi.
| Colour | Festive orange |
| Choli | Korean raw silk, neckline hand-embellished with crystals, sequins, pearls and zardozi |
| Lehenga | Flared Korean raw silk with floral tilla and sequin embroidery |
| Dupatta | Pure organza with a four-sided embroidered border |
| Best for | Mayoun, mehndi and dholki |
| Price | Rs.89,000.00 for all three pieces |

The mayoun is all about haldi and ubtan, a turmeric paste that leaves a golden-orange glow. Orange outfits reflect that colour, and they hide the inevitable smudges of ubtan far better than pale shades. Orange also pairs naturally with the marigold decor, so the bride and her setting look like one warm picture. At the mehndi that follows, the same orange holds its own under evening lights, where paler yellows can look washed out.
Many families split the palette: the bride in one colour and her sisters in the other. Orange and yellow sit side by side on the colour wheel, so they always look coordinated without being identical. If the bride is in Aarohi, sisters can wear mustard or marigold yellow; if she wears yellow, orange is the perfect choice for her sisters and cousins.

If ubtan touches the outfit, let it dry and gently brush it off rather than rubbing it in, then send the outfit for professional dry cleaning. Avoid washing embellished raw silk at home.
