Pink has always belonged at weddings, but the shade matters. Baby pink can fade into the background, fuchsia can shout over everything else, and tea pink sometimes looks washed out under stage lights. Salmon pink sits in the space between them: a warm pink with a hint of coral that flatters skin, photographs beautifully in daylight and turns rich and glowing in the evening.
Avnoor is our salmon pink raw silk lehenga choli from the Shakuntala collection. This guide explains what sets salmon apart from other pinks, how Avnoor is made by hand, how to wear it from a nikkah or anand karaj to a qawali night, and how sisters, cousins and friends can wear it too, whether the wedding is in Lahore, Delhi, Toronto or London.

Tea pink and blush lean cool and pale, with a milky or greyish softness. Salmon pink carries more warmth: there is a touch of peach and coral inside it. That warmth is what makes it feel festive rather than delicate, and it is why salmon reads clearly as a bridal colour even from the back of a hall.
Because of that coral undertone, salmon pink brings colour to the face on wheatish, olive and deeper skin tones without the harshness of hot pink. On fair skin it adds a healthy glow. Gold embroidery sits naturally on it, so the whole outfit looks warm and cohesive in photographs.
Under natural light, salmon looks fresh and soft, ideal for a daytime nikkah or a gurdwara ceremony. Under warm evening lighting, the gold tilla and mirrors take over and the pink deepens, so the same outfit works for a mehndi stage or a reception without looking out of place.
If you are comparing pinks, see how a cooler shade wears with Primrose in tea pink or Diyar in blush pink.
The lehenga and choli are cut in Korean raw silk, which has a light slub texture and enough body to hold a full flare. It takes heavy embroidery without puckering, and it moves well when you dance or sit for long ceremonies.
Every piece of the set is covered in aari tilla work, golden sequins and resham. On the lehenga and the choli, our karigars set small mirrors by hand, stitching each one in place with resham and tilla. The skirt ends in a broad sequinned hem that catches the light with every step.

The choli is where most of the hand time goes. Its neckline and hems, front and back, are embellished by hand with pearls, seed beads, cut-dana, crystal stones, Swarovski crystals, naqshi and tilla. The wide scoop neckline is designed to frame a choker or a layered necklace.

At the back of the choli hang tassels and latkans made with gota, small mirrors, golden pipes and gold beads. They swing as you move and give the outfit a finished look from behind, which matters in every stage and dance photograph.
The dupatta is sheer organza in matching aari tilla, golden sequins and resham, framed by a heavy border on all four sides. It is light enough to drape over your head for a ceremony and holds its shape when pinned on one shoulder.
Bring the organza dupatta over your hair and let the border frame your face. Keep jewellery classic: a kundan or polki choker, jhumkas and a matha patti or tikka. For an anand karaj, a pinned dupatta stays secure through the lavaan, and salmon pink sits beautifully beside the traditional reds and pinks of a gurdwara wedding.

Wear the dupatta over one shoulder so the tassels at the back stay visible, and choose stacked gold bangles over a heavy necklace. Fresh flowers in a low bun or a loose braid suit the colour. The full flare and the mirrors are made for a night of dancing or sitting close to the musicians.
For an evening reception, go fuller with jewellery: a statement polki set with emerald drops pairs well with salmon pink. Leave the dupatta draped across both arms so the hem and the hand-embellished choli both show on stage.
Avnoor is not only for the bride. Sisters, cousins, bhabhis and friends can wear it to the baraat, mehndi or any function, and a guest can wear it to any wedding. Swap the choker for long earrings, wear the dupatta loosely over one arm, and it reads as elegant formal wear rather than bridal.

Yellow gold, kundan, polki and uncut stones all pick up the tilla in the embroidery; emerald green stones add contrast, and pearls echo the choli's hand work. Rose gold can look flat against salmon, so keep to warmer golds. For make-up, nude-rose, peach or soft coral lips keep the face fresh, and a bronze or champagne eye ties in with the gold. Gold khussas or juttis finish the look.
Avnoor ships free with tracking to India, the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, the UAE and Europe. Choose a size from XXS to XL with the international size guide on the product page, or pick Customize and send your own measurements; our guide on how to measure for a made-to-measure lehenga walks you through it. Prices show in your local currency and checkout is in Pakistani rupees. International orders ship DDU, so any import duty is paid on delivery.
Dry clean only. Fold the lehenga with tissue paper between the embroidered layers so the tilla and mirrors do not catch, and store it in a cotton or muslin bag away from damp and perfume. Hang the organza dupatta loosely, or roll it, rather than folding it tightly, and air the set for a few hours after each wear.
