Roshni Mauve Lilac Walima Gown: Design and Styling

Roshni is a mauve lilac open-front gown from our Vyah Diyan Tyaariyan collection, made for the walima, a reception or an engagement. It is a three-piece outfit in net (gown, lehenga and dupatta) hand-embellished with zari, dabka, naqshi, sequins, pearls, crystals and resham in floral and ornamental motifs.

The three pieces

The open-front gown

The gown is the defining piece. Its panels are worked with zari, dabka, naqshi, sequins, pearls, crystals and resham in floral motifs, and its finished borders frame the opening at the front, where the lehenga shows through.

The lehenga

The flared lehenga is embroidered and hand-embellished to match the gown. It adds movement and gives the gown its full bridal shape.

The dupatta

The net dupatta has embellished borders with sequins, pearls and crystals, and a soft drape that balances the worked gown.

Why mauve lilac

Mauve lilac is a muted purple with a grey undertone. It is softer than a jewel tone but has more depth than a pastel, so it looks elegant in both daylight and evening light. Styling Roshni

• Jewellery: silver, diamonds or pearls suit the cool undertone; amethyst or pink stones work as an accent.
